I Paused FB & Google Ads. Here’s Why.

Looking for minerals and goat supplies? Head over to our shop at GoatCare.com!

About a year and a half ago, I realized it was time to up my game and reach a larger audience. Prior to that, all my growth had been word of mouth – and boy did you share, thank you!!

The ad team is professional and incredible and they did a great job reaching new customers.

But I felt out of touch with my audience, with my vision and with my more crunchy, organic nature.

Ads are so transactional and impersonal, even the best of them.

And over the past year or so, I began to feel more and more distanced from my people, when you were the whole reason I built this in the first place.

I also think relying heavily on mechanical, masculine-side growth leads to complacency.

It’s easy enough to drum up additional revenue with additional ad spend, but what about the hunger that drives creativity?

It’s been scary. There’s no *true* way to know how much ads impact sales while you’re in it, so stopping them when all the metrics point to their success was a major leap of faith.

I like to consider myself risk tolerant, but this has been one heck of a stretch.

And the ads *were* successful. Sales revenue is its lowest since early last year. My warehouse manager is telling me to lay off.

But I like to think that hunger births new innovation. And my personal belief is that *I* should take the cut in pay before an employee who trusted me.

Add buying a home with a hefty mortgage and this has been *quite* the interesting time haha.

But you know what? I’m glad I did it. I’m glad my back is to the wall again, because that’s where I innovate best.

That whole new mineral line I’ve been putting off because I’m in the middle of life upheaval? This winter is its time.

I created Calcium Synergy already, it’s great and my goats love it.

And I had this great idea for an entirely new product to develop. I’m getting started on that today in New Moon energy, a great time for beginnings.

So you won’t see me on FB ads now. I’m dabbling in a little bit of Google ads again, but will likely turn those back off and trust that what got me here is still what leads me onward.

To connect now, look to the Circle community, or, for even more depth, my mailing list where I decided I was done being a marketer and instead ready to be a woman walking through fire to craft the next version of my life…with goats, herbs, kids, mess, grief, longing and love mixed in.

The lesson I’m learning, the lesson I hope I can successfully pass on, is that relentless authenticity is the right way to live. We each bring something unique to us, and when we hide ourselves, when we bite our tongues, when we make ourselves small so we don’t rock the boat–as many women have been conditioned to do since birth–we lose that spark that makes us so incredible in our uniqueness.

So look for more of that and less of…whatever traditional marketing is.

And also…please buy minerals. 😅🤣
