I’ve gone quiet because I am gestating.
In 16 days, I am embarking on a new journey into an entirely new life.
After 21 years of marriage–most of my adult life–I am moving on.
I share deeply in my weekly newsletters, but for here I’ll just say that the birthing pains are real. This is hard, and beautiful, and painful, and hopeful and it can be any one of those things on any given minute of every day, sometimes seemingly completely out of nowhere.
With it though comes immense hope.
The home I lived in when you came to know me was purchased with inheritance money, a gift given nearly 15 years after my mother died.
An in-law once remarked, “It must be nice to have a rich Dad.” She had no idea the literal hell that was growing up, actually.
I looked her in the eye and said, “Must be nice to have a living mother.”
In 17 days, I am closing on the house I purchased entirely from the funds of the business I built, the business you helped me succeed in, and a home I could previously only dream of.
I couldn’t settle for the poverty of my adulthood. We’re all meant for so much more than that, and I want this for every one of us.
Over 50 acres, river bordering the entire eastern side, a safe home for my children and I, and, I hope, the source of much inspiration to teach you more herbalism and goat care over the years.
I’ll share more as I have time and emotional space, but big things are changing around here and in the upheaval, I want you to know how grateful I am for you, because you have enabled and empowered me to take a leap of faith, to hope on something beautiful again and to dream of a future filled with creative joy.
