Thanks for your interest in buying a Nigerian Dwarf goat kid from us here at Little Avalon Farm! Kidding season is the best time of year, but also the busiest. Farmer’s hours are not the coziest ones, but we sure wouldn’t trade them for banker’s hours!
In order to streamline the reservation process and make it simple for buyers to know what to expect, we have a dedicated mailing list only for notifying interested buyers when kids have been born and are ready for purchase.
Normally, I wait until a large group of kids is born, then take individual photographs of them to post on our year-specific page – see 2021 Kids for an example. Once I have a sufficient number on the website–20 or more, usually–I will send an email to this newsletter to let you know kids are ready for purchase. This may result in 3-4 emails being sent during kidding season, depending on how quickly does kid and how many I get on the website at a time.
Kids are not considered sold until a deposit has been received, but it can get quite hectic in the early buying rush so I try to make the process as stress free as possible. If you’re seriously considering buying a couple of goats but need time to talk it over, email me to let me know and I’ll put a temporary hold on the kid(s) you’re considering. This hold will be for no more than 24 hours. If I don’t hear from you, the hold will be removed and the kid(s) put back into the available category.
You have another 24 hours to send a nonrefundable deposit – please closely read our sale terms before committing to buy.
Because sales are open to everyone, it pays to move quickly to let me know you’re considering a particular goat. As I write this in 2021, 11 of the initial 27 kids listed for sale were sold in the first two days after listing them.
If you would like to sign up to be notified when kids are available to purchase, you can do so with the following form. You can unsubscribe any time your needs change.
